BMW E1 Z11 & Z15 | The 20-Years-Ahead 1991 Electric BMW

Developed by BMW Technik under the internal project codes Z11 and Z15, the E1 introduced advanced ideas such as lightweight aluminum construction, recyclable body panels, rear-mounted electric drive, optimized battery placement, and dedicated EV architecture. Presented in 1991 and evolved in 1993, the BMW E1 demonstrated that practical electric mobility was possible decades before EVs became mainstream. With around 120 km/h top speed and approximately 200 km of range, it was one of the most advanced electric vehicle concepts of its era. In this documentary, we explore the engineering behind BMW’s forgotten electric pioneer, its sodium-sulfur battery experiments, lightweight design philosophy, and how its ideas later influenced the BMW i3 and the company’s future electric strategy. #bmw #bmwe1 #electriccar SUBSCRIBE TO CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A?sub_confirmation=1 CONTRIBUTE WITH A LITTLE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO ACCESS ALL BENEFITS: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A/join FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | https://ift.tt/nq18vdz Instagram | https://ift.tt/FpC7WXk Pinterest | https://ift.tt/Zh6x15b Reddit | https://ift.tt/Uh96q8k X/Twitter | https://www.twitter.com/MotorSpexx Threads | https://ift.tt/CiytaBK Tumblr | https://ift.tt/ln3Chv6 Blog | https://ift.tt/KoZzrIn
