McLaren MCL-HY 2027 WEC Hypercar | The Le Mans Return & the GTR Track Version Explained

McLaren officially returns to Le Mans with the all-new MCL-HY Hypercar, built to LMDh regulations for the FIA World Endurance Championship starting in 2027. Powered by a twin-turbo V6 hybrid system producing up to 707HP (520kW), the MCL-HY combines a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque with endurance-focused efficiency, targeting overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Alongside the race car, McLaren also revealed the MCL-HY GTR — a track-only version without hybrid assistance, producing around 730HP from its 2.9L twin-turbo V6, designed for private clients through the exclusive Project: Endurance programme. With testing starting in 2026 and a full FIA WEC debut in 2027, the MCL-HY represents McLaren’s most serious endurance racing effort since its iconic 1995 Le Mans victory. In this video: full technical breakdown, specs, hybrid system, and what makes this Hypercar unique. #mclaren #fiawec #lemans #mclarenmclhy SUBSCRIBE TO CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A?sub_confirmation=1 CONTRIBUTE WITH A LITTLE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO ACCESS ALL BENEFITS: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A/join FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | https://ift.tt/hwYWje2 Instagram | https://ift.tt/bnyEONV Pinterest | https://ift.tt/T1GotmH Reddit | https://ift.tt/mR3p4Sx X/Twitter | https://www.twitter.com/MotorSpexx Threads | https://ift.tt/reXEJp9 Tumblr | https://ift.tt/82A4vuX Blog | https://ift.tt/6NuqEw5
