Williams FW20 B | First BMW V10 F1 Engine (E41) - 1999 Test at Miramas (V10 Formula 1 Sound)

This vintage footage captures the first on-track test of the BMW V10 Formula 1 engine in April 1999 at BMW’s Miramas test circuit in France. Installed in the 1998 Williams FW20 chassis (FW20 B specification), the BMW E41 V10 marked the beginning of BMW’s official return to Formula 1. Driven by Jörg Müller, nearly 200 km were completed over three days as BMW validated the first development stage of its 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V10. The engine, internally codenamed E41, would later power the 2000-season Williams FW22 as part of the BMW-Williams works partnership. BMW Motorsport director Gerhard Berger confirmed the test results met expectations, helping recover early development delays. Developed under the leadership of legendary BMW engine architect Paul Rosche, the E41 became the foundation of BMW’s competitive Formula 1 program in the V10 era. This video features pure, unfiltered raw V10 sound — no commentary, no music — just the high-revving BMW Formula 1 engine echoing around Miramas during authentic 1999 F1 testing. #formula1 #bmw #williamsf1 #classicracing SUBSCRIBE TO CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A?sub_confirmation=1 CONTRIBUTE WITH A LITTLE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO ACCESS ALL BENEFITS: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6IKxew0eG8FQWl89nCv-3A/join FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | https://ift.tt/bEDeySk Instagram | https://ift.tt/BWS8TU5 Pinterest | https://ift.tt/d8JOMFk X/Twitter | https://www.twitter.com/MotorSpexx Threads | https://ift.tt/MFZbr97 Tumblr | https://ift.tt/3vltCe9 Blog | https://ift.tt/xjsLynt
