Disassembling an F1 Engine (Pistons & Rods) | Ayrton Senna V10 McLaren Honda MP45B RA100E - Part 3

In Part 3 of this series, Honda Racing technicians disassemble the pistons and connecting rods of the Honda RA100E V10 Formula 1 engine. This particular engine, unit V805, is unique in motorsport history. It was the last Honda V10 engine raced by Ayrton Senna in the 1990 Formula 1 season with the McLaren Honda MP4/5B. Senna drove with this engine during the warm-up at the Japanese Grand Prix and in the Australian Grand Prix, where he clinched his second Drivers’ Championship and helped secure McLaren Honda’s third consecutive Constructors’ title. Most Honda F1 engines from this period were returned to Japan for inspection, disassembled, and then discarded. However, since 1990 was the final year of the V10 before the move to the V12, this unit was preserved intact, making it a rare surviving piece of Formula 1 and Honda racing history. This video captures the process in ASMR style, with no added music — only the original sounds of the Honda Racing technicians at work.
