Disassembling an F1 Engine (Aux & Oil Sump) | Ayrton Senna’s V10 McLaren-Honda MP45B RA100E - Part 2

In this second part of the series, Honda Racing technicians continue the disassembly of the legendary Honda RA100E V10 Formula 1 engine by removing the auxiliaries and oil sump. This specific unit, numbered V805, is historically significant as the last Honda V10 engine raced by Ayrton Senna in the 1990 Formula 1 season with the McLaren Honda MP4/5B. Senna used it during the warm-up at the Japanese Grand Prix and in the Australian Grand Prix, where he secured his second Drivers’ Championship and contributed to McLaren Honda’s third consecutive Constructors’ title. Unlike most Honda F1 engines of this era — which were returned to Japan, disassembled, analyzed for fatigue, and then discarded — this particular engine was preserved intact. Today, it stands as one of the rarest surviving pieces of Formula 1 and Honda racing history. This teardown is presented in ASMR style, with no added music — only the authentic sounds of Honda Racing technicians at work.
